               Sgt. Scott Merchant

Scott is a 17 year veteran of the Clarksville Police Department.  He started his career in law enforcement as a reserve officer in 1981 and became a full time officer in 1983.

Scott is a certified firearms instructor and has received a number of "Above and Beyond" citations for his actions and bravery.

Scott is a 1979 graduate of Clarksville High School and attended Vincennes University, where he majored in Law Enforcement. He is married and has two children. Scott is a member of St. Anthony's Church. His community involvement includes coaching Little League.  In his spare time Scott enjoys biking and participated in the "Ride Across Indiana" to help promote D.A.R.E. and Team Work.
